The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Plateau state has called for a peaceful election during a special prayer session in Jos. Guest speaker Rev. S.O. Academy told the Christians pressent that they should see the elections as an opportunity to serve and not as a ‘do-or-die’ affair which is the perspective of almost all christian’s today.
Historically, general elections in Nigeria have been characterized by violence between political parties and religious groups. Christian leaders in Nigeria are hoping that this election will be different. This is now the major concern of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) as it made prayers to this effect.
Special prayers were also offered for Leah Sharibu, a Christian teen being held by the Boko Haram terrorist group, as well as other Boko Haram captives.
