Every Christian longs to be blessed by God.
However, many Christians mistakenly understand God’s blessings. To avoid misunderstanding, what can be used as a benchmark for knowing someone is blessed or not blessed by God?
Often used as a measure of blessing is health, success, and wealth. However, the word of God does not even mention or justify one of these three things.
God’s blessing is His inclusion and favor. does it mean to have prime health, business success and abundant wealth if God is not on our side and with us? for Moses who was blessed by God, God’s anticipation and favor upon him when he was appointed to lead the Israelite to the promised land was enough for him.
God’s presence is always adequate for David, both during calm and he passed through the valley of darkness. for Paul, his joy is not limited by material, prison walls, and health.
God’s blessings in today’s Christian life. The extraordinary experience of biblical leaders who were blessed by God, did not change their understanding of God’s blessings in their lives. as a result, in the inclusion of God all their needs are met: health, success in leading the people, and economic needs. different types of contemporary Christians who regard and categorize God’s blessings as limited to meeting the needs of “stomach and prestige”.
The influence of materialism has silenced our faith. consequently we are bound by understanding we are now living in a time of dependence on matter. God is only considered to exist if material needs are met. Have we ever asked: “why until I am still breathing? Where do I get that breath?”
Prayer: God help me to see everything that this world has to offer is rubbish compared to your inclusion and favor .
